Chemistry and Life Cycle Assessment in the Leather Industry / content by Stahl Leather, sponsor of the CICB Sustainability Forum

March 19, at Fimec Fair

Chemical inputs hold many answers and opportunities for improvement in the leather industry. This partnership, focused on innovation and market demands, spans multiple areas of production, including one of the most relevant topics today: Life Cycle Assessment (LCA).

Addressing this subject, the CICB Sustainability Forum will feature the lecture The Chemical Contribution: how the chemical industry is reducing the environmental footprint of leather, presented by Michael Costello, ESG Director at Stahl. The session will take place on March 19 during the Fimec trade fair in Novo Hamburgo (RS), Brazil. Costello will share his extensive expertise on this topic, highlighting Stahl's work in meeting leather market trends through indicators, data, and compliance and efficiency records. "LCA is becoming a standard requirement for customers, alongside technical data," warns Costello.

The CICB Sustainability Forum is part of the Brazilian Leather project, a partnership between the Centre for the Brazilian Tanning Industry (CICB) and the Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency (ApexBrasil). The Gold sponsors for this edition of the event are Stahl Leather, Abrameq with Master, NBN, Bremm Beck and Michelon, and Minerva Leather. Silver sponsors include Getti, Viposa, Vancouros, and Sincurt.
