The United States is the next international destination for Brazilian leather, with the upcoming edition of Lineapelle New York. A total of 14 Brazilian leather companies are confirmed as individual exhibitors at the major event taking place on July 16 and 17. The national participation is supported by Brazilian Leather, a project that fosters the international presence of Brazilian leather through a partnership between the Centre for the Brazilian Tanning Industry (CICB) and the Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency (ApexBrasil).
Letícia Luft, Manager of Brazilian Leather, will accompany the group and highlights that Lineapelle NY is now firmly established as the event outside of Asia with the highest number of Brazilian tanneries. “Brazilian leather alone accounts for nearly 15% of the fair’s booths. It’s a highly focused and efficient event, attracting major global brands with offices in New York as well as promising new designers from the fashion industry,” says Letícia.
In 2024, the United States ranked as the second-largest importer of Brazilian leather, accounting for 13.3% of the industry's export value. In 2025, up to May, the country has maintained this position, representing 13.7% of Brazil’s total leather exports by value.
