January 7th, 2026
APLF Leather is the world’s leading leather trade fair. Held in Hong Kong, its next edition will take place from March 12 to 14, featuring 31 individual exhibitors from Brazil’s tanning industry. The Brazilian participation is supported by the Brazilian Leather project, carried out through a partnership between the Centre for the Brazilian Tanning Industry (CICB) and ApexBrasil – the Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency.
The fair is regarded as a global barometer for the leather sector, anticipating trends and market outlooks throughout the year. APLF brings together all leather-demanding segments, with special emphasis on importers from Hong Kong and mainland China, which together are the main buyers of Brazilian leather, accounting for more than one third of Brazil’s total exports. “In addition, the event attracts key professionals from other major leather industry hubs, such as the United States, the second-largest destination for Brazilian leather in 2025 (even amid changes in bilateral trade), and Europe, with emphasis on Italy, which alone imported more than 10% of Brazilian leather last year,” highlights Rogério Cunha, Trade Intelligence Manager at CICB, who will be in Hong Kong taking part in commercial and institutional activities on behalf of the sector.
According to Letícia Luft, Manager of the Brazilian Leather project, APLF will also feature collective pavilions from other relevant countries, including Italy, France, Australia, and Turkey. “This is an event that concentrates the global strength of the leather industry, which is why we invest heavily in promoting business opportunities and strengthening the image of Brazilian leather,” she says. Throughout the three days of the fair, Brazil will be broadly represented through the Brazilian Leather project stand, showcasing institutional materials and the traditional Preview do Couro (Leather Preview) exhibition, featuring hides specially developed by a range of Brazilian tanneries (both APLF exhibitors and non-exhibitors). This initiative enhances Brazil’s visibility in Hong Kong and is expected to generate consistent results throughout 2026.
