Preview do Couro (Leather Preview Collection) anticipates 2027 trends at Inspiramais in São Paulo

With a forward-looking approach, the Preview do Couro (Leather Preview Collection) showcase will soon be presented in São Paulo (SP), during Inspiramais. This exclusive leather collection anticipates future trends, sharing concepts, ideas, and elements that are set to influence fashion in 2027, based on the work of 19 tanneries. The theme for this edition is Turning Point. Discover it on July 15 and 16 at the Pro Magno Events Center. Free registration is available at www.inspiramais.com.br.

Preview do Couro is a joint initiative of the Brazilian Leather and Brazilian Materials projects, in partnership with the Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency (ApexBrasil). Inspiramais is promoted by the Centre for the Brazilian Tanning Industry (CICB), the Brazilian Association of Companies of Components for Leather, Footwear and Manufactured Goods (Assintecal), the Brazilian Textile and Apparel Industry Association (Abit), the Brazilian Furniture Industry Association (Abimóvel), and ApexBrasil. The event is part of sectoral projects carried out by ApexBrasil together with the associations, namely: Brazilian Leather, Texbrasil, Brazilian Furniture, and Brazilian Materials.

The project’s coordinator, designer Marnei Carminatti, explains that Preview do Couro 2027_I focuses on the development of surfaces and finishes inspired by sensory experiences and contextual interpretation. “The reflections behind this cycle are grounded in the thoughts of Fritjof Capra, particularly in his work The Turning Point (1981), which challenges the Cartesian worldview and proposes a holistic and interconnected understanding of reality,” he highlights.

According to Marnei, Preview do Couro is a visionary project that strengthens Brazil’s leather sector through technical and creative consultancy, promoting the development of finished, original, and authentic leathers. Aligned with ESG principles, the project encourages sustainable practices, fosters transparency, and seeks a balance between economic progress, environmental responsibility, and positive social impact.

About Brazilian Leather
A sectoral project for the internationalisation of Brazilian leather, Brazilian Leather is carried out by the Centre for the Brazilian Tanning Industry (CICB) in partnership with ApexBrasil (Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency). The project employs various strategies to consolidate the national product in foreign markets — including support for tanneries’ participation in major global trade fairs and business missions aimed at strengthening relationships between Brazilian suppliers and international buyers. More information is available at www.brazilianleather.com.br.

About ApexBrasil
The Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency (ApexBrasil) works to promote Brazilian products and services abroad and to attract foreign investment to strategic sectors of the Brazilian economy. To achieve this, ApexBrasil conducts a wide range of commercial promotion initiatives designed to boost exports and enhance the image of Brazilian products and services internationally. These include trade and prospecting missions, business matchmaking rounds, support for Brazilian companies’ participation in major international fairs, and hosting foreign buyers and opinion leaders to experience Brazil’s production capabilities first-hand. The agency also works with public and private partners to attract foreign direct investment (FDI) to Brazil, focusing on sectors that are strategic to the country’s competitiveness and development.

About CICB
The Centre for the Brazilian Tanning Industry (CICB) is the representative body for Brazilian leather-producing companies. Since its founding in 1957, CICB has worked to drive growth, enhance quality, strengthen the industry, and promote unity among its members. The organisation’s guiding principle is sustainability, through which it leads projects in technology, workforce training, government dialogue, international promotion, reputation building, technical and design qualification, research, and market intelligence. CICB also engages in institutional representation, collaboration with the leather production chain, and organises national working groups on traceability and communication with members throughout Brazil.
