Trade fair in Mexico generates US$ 7.4 million in projected business for Brazilian Leather

The ANPIC trade fair, held just a few days ago in León, Mexico, reflects in its results the positive trend in Brazilian leather exports to the Mexican market. Combining business deals closed during the event and those projected for the next 12 months, the total exceeded US$ 7.4 million for Brazilian exhibitors, an increase of 10.2% compared to the 2025 edition. Brazil's participation in the event was supported by Brazilian Leather, a project developed through a partnership between the Centre for the Brazilian Tanning Industry (CICB) and the Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency (ApexBrasil).

The Brazilian companies exhibiting at ANPIC with the support of Brazilian Leather were Couros Bom Retiro, Cortume Krumenauer, Couro e Arte, Curtume Partner, OCM Best Brasil, and Pacific Leather. Together, they established 202 business contacts with new and existing importers, compared to 166 during the same edition of ANPIC last year.

According to Rogério Cunha, Trade Intelligence Manager at CICB, these figures reflect both the positive momentum of Mexico's leather market — a major supplier to the United States — and the growing importance of the trade fair itself. "ANPIC continues to grow in terms of visitors and exhibitors with each edition, as Mexican manufacturing becomes increasingly relevant to its North American neighbours in sectors such as footwear, automotive, and furniture. This is a market that Brazil should pay close attention to, as Mexico already ranks fifth among the main destinations for Brazilian leather exports," he explains.
