Leather: six Brazilian companies to exhibit at ANPIC trade fair in Mexico

Mexico was the fifth-largest importer of Brazilian leather in 2025, with its share steadily increasing in recent years. A well-established supplier to the United States, with a highly industrialized economy and significant production figures in the footwear, furniture, and automotive industries, Mexico is the next destination for Brazilian Leather, a project developed by the Centre for the Brazilian Tanning Industry (CICB) in partnership with the Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency (ApexBrasil). Brazilian companies will participate in the ANPIC trade fair, taking place from October 21 to 23 in León, Mexico.

The Brazilian exhibitors supported by Brazilian Leather at ANPIC are Couros Bom Retiro, Cortume Krumenauer, Couro e Arte, Curtume Partner, OCM Best Brasil, and Pacific Leather. "The Brazilian group includes companies offering different types of leather for various industry segments and businesses of different sizes. This profile demonstrates that Mexico has potential for our entire product range," says Rogério Cunha, Trade Intelligence Manager at Brazilian Leather, who will accompany the group at the trade fair.

Rogério will also be responsible for Brazilian Leather's dedicated booth at ANPIC, which will showcase leather samples from the latest Preview do Couro collection. The selection features products from several Brazilian tanneries, including specially developed articles that anticipate upcoming fashion trends.

At ANPIC, Brazilian exhibitors will have the opportunity to establish new business contacts and strengthen relationships with existing customers. The event is the largest of its kind in Mexico, bringing together key industry players and decision-makers, particularly from the footwear sector. This is precisely why the fair takes place in León, the country's leading hub for footwear expertise and manufacturing.

In addition to leather, ANPIC showcases chemicals, machinery, and other materials used in footwear production. The event also features trend areas and conferences, attracting visitors from more than 30 countries. In terms of footwear production, Mexico ranks tenth worldwide, manufacturing 215 million pairs annually (2025 data from the World Footwear Yearbook). Of these, 30 million pairs are exported, 62% of which are made of leather.
