Brazilian tanneries to exhibit at Lineapelle New York: meet the participating companies
Fairs & Events
July 13th, 2026
Just days before the FIFA World Cup final on July 19, New York will host one of the fashion supply chain’s leading international events. Lineapelle New York will take place on July 15–16, bringing together nine Brazilian tanneries as exhibitors. Their participation is supported by Brazilian Leather, a sectoral project developed through a partnership between the Centre for the Brazilian Industry (CICB) and the Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency (ApexBrasil).

Holding a trade fair in the same city and at nearly the same time as one of the world's biggest sporting events presents both challenges and opportunities. According to Brazilian Leather Manager Letícia Luft, the timing could help attract new visitors to Lineapelle New York. "The fair organizers have been carrying out an extensive promotional campaign. As a result, there is a strong possibility of attracting a new audience to the event—people who may already be in New York because of the tournament but whose professional activities are connected to the leather industry, making a visit to Lineapelle New York a valuable opportunity," she says.
Despite the additional tariffs and political issues affecting trade relations between Brazil and the United States in recent months, the U.S. remains the second most important destination for Brazilian leather exports, behind only China and Hong Kong. Finished and semi-finished leather accounts for the overwhelming majority of shipments (97.5% from January through May 2026), highlighting the high value-added profile of Brazilian exports.
