The Preview do Couro is organized by the Brazilian Leather and Brazilian Materials projects, in partnership with the Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency (ApexBrasil). The promotion of Inspiramais is carried out by the Centre for the Brazilian Tanning Industry (CICB), the Brazilian Association of Companies of Components for Leather, Footwear and Manufactured Goods (Assintecal), the Brazilian Textile and Apparel Industry Association (Abit), the Brazilian Furniture Manufacturers Association (Abimóvel), and ApexBrasil. These initiatives are driven by sectoral projects conducted by ApexBrasil in collaboration with these entities. Sectoral projects include Brazilian Leather, Texbrasil, Brazilian Furniture, and Brazilian Materials.
Project coordinator and designer Marnei Carminatti explains that the Preview do Couro 2026_I emerges with a contemporary take on the Burnout theme, transforming exhaustion into a celebration of style. According to Marnei, in this collection, Burnout is transformed into a creative and positive force, an ode to resilience and the reinvention of an exhausted scenario.
Here’s a preview of what will be presented in Taquara and São Paulo with the Preview do Couro 2026_I:
“The collection embraces the sophistication of black and faux blacks, symbolising depth and mystery with a dark and dramatic air. This is an invitation to delve into the shadows of difficulties, revealing the beauty that arises from moments of adversity and celebrating the hidden strength within each of us. Complementing this foundation, red, yellow, blue, and purple illuminate the collection, bringing bold and invigorating contrast to the upcoming season. The research themes – Fetish/Sci-Fi and Elegance/Chicness – are expressed through the developed products. Fetish appears in intriguing textures and sensual finishes, while Sci-Fi infuses a futuristic and inorganic touch. Elegance and Chicness are captured in clean lines and sophisticated design, offering a luxurious response to the emotional weariness of the Burnout theme.” – Marnei Carminatti, coordinator of Preview do Couro

About Brazilian Leather: Brazilian Leather is a sectoral project aimed at internationalizing Brazilian leather, conducted by the Centre for the Brazilian Tanning Industry (CICB) in partnership with ApexBrasil (the Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency). Various strategies are employed to consolidate the national product in foreign markets – encouraging tanneries to participate in the world's leading trade fairs related to the sector and business missions aimed at strengthening relationships between Brazilian suppliers and international buyers are some of these strategies. For more information, visit www.brazilianleather.com.br.
About ApexBrasil: the Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency (ApexBrasil) works to promote Brazilian products and services abroad and attract foreign investment to strategic sectors of the Brazilian economy. To achieve these goals, ApexBrasil carries out diverse promotional activities designed to promote exports and enhance the value of Brazilian products and services abroad, such as prospective and commercial missions, business rounds, support for the participation of Brazilian companies in major international fairs, visits of foreign buyers and opinion makers to learn about the Brazilian productive structure, among other business platforms aimed at strengthening the Brazil brand. The agency also works in coordination with public and private actors to attract foreign direct investment (FDI) to Brazil, focusing on strategic sectors for the development of the competitiveness of Brazilian companies and the country.
About CICB: the Centre for the Brazilian Tanning Industry (CICB) represents companies producing leather in the country. Since its foundation in 1957, the CICB has sought growth, qualification, strengthening, and unity within the sector. The guiding principle of the organization is sustainability, through which the entity engages in technology projects and the training of new professionals, dialogue with governmental entities, interfacing industry agendas with public authorities, commercial promotion of leather and advocacy, reputation building and image promotion, technical qualification, design and market information research. It also engages in institutional representation, connection and dialogue with the production chain, and conducts working groups – Traceability and Communication – with members across the country.
