Brazil Heads to Vietnam for Leather Trade Fair

Vietnam, the world's third-largest importer of leather and the fourth-leading destination for Brazilian leather and hides exports, is the next stop for Brazil on the international leather trade fair circuit. From July 8 to 10, Ho Chi Minh City will host Shoes & Leather Vietnam, featuring five exhibitors supported by Brazilian Leather, a partnership between the Brazilian Tanning Industry Center (CICB) and the Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency (ApexBrasil).

Participating companies include Cortume Krumenauer, Courovale, Euro-América, JBS Couros, and Minuano. In 2025, Vietnam accounted for 10.3% of all Brazilian leather exports. According to Rogério Cunha, CICB's Market Intelligence Manager, who will accompany the group in Ho Chi Minh City, the country is increasingly important in the global manufacturing landscape.

“In the footwear industry, Vietnam has already become the world's second-largest exporter, with 40% of the pairs produced for export made from leather. As production continues to decentralize globally, this is a promising market where we can further expand Brazilian leather exports,” he says.

Brazilian Leather's communication channels will provide coverage of Brazil's participation at Shoes & Leather Vietnam. In addition to tanneries, the event brings together exhibitors from the chemicals, machinery, and materials segments of the footwear supply chain, totaling more than 800 booths and an expected audience of 15,000 visitors.
